Educational Tours

Once again, students from across Rhode Island and Massachusetts have an opportunity to observe and experience first-hand, Science in its purest form. Confreda Greenhouses & Farms continues its commitment to educating young people about farming in Rhode Island. Our more than 400 acres of vegetables and greenhouses provide your students with a new appreciation for where their food comes from and how it is produced. Over 85 years of experience spanning 4 generations has qualified Confreda’s as one of the most progressive and largest farms in Southeastern New England.

All tours will include a tractor-pulled wagon-ride, an educational talk in our "Outdoor Classroom", a sugar pumpkin, coloring book/activity book for each child and use of a picnic area.

Your class will learn lots of FUN FARM FACTS and enjoy a FUN DAY in the fresh air!

Frequently Asked About Details:

Length of tour:	Approximately 60 minutes (picnic areas are available for lunches and snacks upon request)
Tour Days:	Monday to Friday Sept. 14 – Oct. 30
Tour Times:	Tours booked every 15 minutes from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Reservations should be made as soon as possible. The earlier you visit, the more produce you will see.
Tour Cost:	$5 per student and siblings. Chaperones are FREE (Limit one chaperone per child excluding teachers).
Payment:	One check/credit card made payable to Confreda Greenhouses & Farms is greatly appreciated. If paying with cash, please sort coins. Payment is due upon arrival of your tour.
Rain:	Please call the office after 9 a. m. if you have a question regarding weather. We will work with you regarding re-scheduling. Please have the kids dress weather appropriate.
Minimum Group:	15 children is the minimum required for tours. Wagons can accommodate 30-40 people.Our wagons are wheelchair accessible.
Arrival Time:	Please arrive 10 minutes before scheduled tour time.
Parking: Refreshments: Corn Maze:	Buses are welcome to park in the front lot and cars are asked to park in our rear parking lot, behind our building…watch for signs! Pizza Strip: $1.50, Ice Cream: $1.50, Apple: $ .50 Refreshments must be ordered one week ahead of time. Find your way through our four acre corn maze for an additional $2.50 per child. The maze takes approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.
